There's a fun new project on the web. Project Playlist. Create a free account, and you are off. Search through their files for any music you want and put it on a 'playlist'. You can put 75 songs on each list, and then you begin a new list. This is a good thing because I just finished my 4th list. If I spent more time on this site I could make 75 lists of 75 songs.
Depending on what I'm in the mood for, I'll pick a list, hit play and go about whatever it is I am doing, singing along with some of my favorite songs while I clean the house, relax on the deck, write, paint, dance, websurf... there's always music for it... always a song to sing in the background.
I don't get commercials... dj's... weather and traffic reports... I don't have to come back to it to change cd's or skip songs I didn't want to hear... I LOVE IT.
Please step into my parlor and taste any of the 75 flavors that suite you.... I think there's something for just about everyone... but I am not done making my lists yet, not even close. Cick on any of the links below. They will take you to the first page, if you click on 'View Playlists' under my picture, you can listen to any of them. There is a tiny white scrollbar on the right side of the lists, if you want to move down the list to see the whole thing.
Wanderlust Scarlett's Playlist: Andrea Bocelli, UB40, Simply Red, Maroon 5, The Police, Spandau Ballet, Matthew Wilder, Mike & the Mechanics, Madonna, Crowded House, Chicago and Peter Cetera, Rod Stewart, Prince, Pet Shop Boys, Tears for Fears, Pat Benatar... much more.

This is very cool stuff! I will have to check it out. Thanks for the tip and the playlists.
ReplyDeleteThat's totally cool, and I have a feeling it will be a HUGE time suck in my near future...
ReplyDeleteJeni,
ReplyDeleteYes! Hope you like it. Bet you a coke, you find something on there that you love... your theme song!!
Jules!
Hey girl! Nice to see you.
It IS a huge time sucker!!!
Oh... the time I've spent, finding, rearranging... listening has been lovely though, it is all worth it.
Enjoy ladies!
Scarlett & Viaggiatore
Heehee I quite love your 80s playlist. I think I'll make one myself. Thanks much for it :) Will defo check it out
ReplyDeleteLovely choices, all things I like too. I'd have to have a 60s and 70s list as well.
ReplyDeleteYou already know how much I love the "original" list...now this is just getting dangerous :)
ReplyDeletePrincess,
ReplyDeletePlease do and then let me know so I can go see it. Isn't it FUN!
Apprentice,
I have to make a 30's big band list, a 50's, 60's and 70's list, and a classical list.
Then I'll be closer to finished.
Sognatrice,
*GIGGLES* I love that, though.
You have excellent taste.
;o)

Ahhh, more distractions.....
ReplyDeleteOoh, this looks like huge fun! And it seems you, like me, have very eclectic tastes in music! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a fun idea - does it work if you do not have an speakers on your computer? I have tried these sites before and they do not play to me?
ReplyDeleteExactly what I've been looking for! I like my music all mixed up, just can't load the CD player and be content with the same group in one hour spurts. Thanks Scarlett!
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge fan of the "New Wave" bands from the 80's! Just listing them as you did brought back memories. Oh, and funny how Red, Red Wine is one of your favorites when I just saw them in person at an outdoor concert on Friday night. A definite MUST SEE if they ever come to a venue near you!
ReplyDeleteChristina
oh no! not another really useful gizom that will take up more of my time - where is it, quick! :)
ReplyDeleteI just flew through the playlist page for now. I think this site will be really helpful for downloading songs. What I don't like about itunes is you only get to hear a dear little bit of a song, so it will be good to hear the whole thing through first, so I know if I really want the song, and which version of it I want, before I download it from itunes. (or not).
ReplyDeleteI think creating whole playlists, and listening to those of others, could prove addictive and dangerous for me.
Minx,
ReplyDeleteI aim to please! I've spent DAYS on this site.
Vanilla,
*giggle*... eclectic. Yes... very much so. Now, when I get Elvis, The Beatles, Supertramp, Otis Redding, Pink Floyd and Patsy Cline all up on a list... my versatility will really start to shine through! Sounds like I'm in just the right company then!
Mutley,
I'm SO sorry, I don't think it works if you don't have speakers. Shame about that. Garage sale, perhaps? Craigslist? Sniff around and see what you can find.
Kat,
Amen sister! I love picking exactly what I want to hear, in the order I want to hear it, with no interruptions... no anything. Whoever thought of this is sheer genius.
Just gotta watch out for the ads on the site... it's like an ad minefield, but well worth it.
Christina,
Isn't that IRONIC?! I thought so as soon as I saw your UB40 bit. They are on the concert list... we have good taste, you and I!
Cailleach,
Guaranteed time sucker...
Please enjoy!
Taffiny,
Ooooooh girl. Can I tell ya about the time I've spent. I've enjoyed it all, which is part of a good addiction... but yah.
Hope you enjoy it!
Scarlett & Viaggiatore (do you know, he dances? Isn't he something?)
I recognize and love just about every artist on Your list! Music was good back then.
ReplyDeleteECD,
ReplyDeleteI think it's a good list... but then, I made it... :o)
Glad you like it!
Scarlett & Viaggiatore
Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Michael Feinstein (among others)- seems I share a few picks with you ^^ My favorite eclectic (primarily jazz) is The Seatbelts; they're not that well-known, but their music is quite entertaining.
ReplyDeleteHey Neil!
ReplyDeleteWell... they are some of the best for a reason. Excellent music!
So glad you enjoy it too!
Birds of a feather... you know... we seem to have a flock of friends with good taste here!
