Moon Topples is having photo phun with pics in the month of October... or in this case, Phoctober.
I doubt I'll be able to get pics in every day, but I'll participate as much as I can with some here and there.
Happy Phoctober 4th!

Where the sky stops
Blowing and drifting snow on the road....
Sun on winter snow glazed hills
Prairie Snow and wild horses
Oh wow! Those are stunning! I particularly like the one of the snow blowing and drifting across the road. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy seeing photos of open spaces. It reminds me that not all of the world is scrunched into hillsides and riverbeds. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. Your last photos were autumn. Does this mean spring is just around the bend? I sure hope so.
ReplyDeletePretty! I love photo posts.
ReplyDeleteVery, very nice, Ms Scarlett. I am with Absolute Vanilla in liking the Drifting Road very much.
ReplyDeleteYou have quite the eye, to go with all the other good things.
Lovely photos, Scarlett. I do miss the windswept beauty of snow, but not the shoveling so much.
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL PICTURES! I especially love the one where the sun was shining upon the snow glazed horizon...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, as always. And I know where to come when I need my snow fix...love the drifting :)
ReplyDeleteThey are very good indeed - snow is such a thingy thing to every different part of the world. Here, we don't get much of it, and when we do it doesn't stick. Except the odd winter when we get winds from the artic. But we can thank the Gulf stream for our (mostly) mild winters...
ReplyDeletevery inspiring landscapes... and shores.
ReplyDeletelove it (might not be a surprise to u): hope you get to repeat..
:)
I love this project - so many different aspects from all over the world - we really are a global community.
ReplyDeleteYou lucky thing - all that snow!My children would be so jealous!
ReplyDeleteAddy
Vanilla,
ReplyDeleteWell thank you, I like them too... except I was driving on that road with the blowing and drifting snow, and that tends to take some of the wonder out of it and put some adrenaline into it...
Ally,
Oh... no, the world is so different all over the place; especially this place, it's Wyoming... most of the southern part of the state is flat, brown, windy desert.
The sunsets and the stars that shine at night there are something to behold.
Sarala,
HAAAA ha haaa aahaaa...
Yah.
Well, we'd have to skip Christmas if I did that, so we'll wait a couple weeks and then I can post spring. Kay?
Dewey,
Me too.... it's kind of cheating, but they're very easy.
David,
That's very nice, glad you like them. Thanks!
Hearts,
I love moonlight on windswept snow, and snowflakes when they fall softly and the quiet in that kind of snowstorm, when you really can't hear anything... it's peaceful.
I am not a huge fan of shoveling anything, including snow.
Princess,
Glad you liked that one; it was about 12 below zero with the wind chill factor and the wind was more than 40 miles an hour... I couldn't hardly breathe when I was taking it. Glad it came out ok!
Sognatrice,
Well... none of that is Colorado snow. That's the thing; I'd recommend Colorado snow over Wyoming snow every day.
In Aspen and Steamboat Springs we get what's called 'champagne powder' snow (i.e., perfect for skiing) super soft, dry powder. Good stuff.
Cailleach,
That's kind of sad, I love having snow to play in during the winter, especially on Christmas.
Snow balls, snow angels, snow men (or families if we get enough snow)... snow days home from work or school... lots of fun. I'll wish you some this year.
Alaleh,
They are beautiful landscapes. Glad that you enjoyed!
Minx,
Well said! We really are, aren't we? Global community. I love that.
Thanks, Mistress Dame.
Wilf,
Children and snow go together like peanut butter and jelly. Or kids and peanut butter and jelly. So much fun... I'll send some snow flakes your way...
