Blog Action Day ~ 2008

Blog Action Day is on October 15th. The topic this year is POVERTY.

This is a very serious world wide issue and it should not be overlooked.

It knows no borders
It knows no time
It knows no ethnicity
It knows no religion
It knows no age
It knows no gender

Poverty knows pain
Poverty knows suffering
Poverty knows sickness
Poverty knows desperation
Poverty knows hopelessness
Poverty knows death

Poverty knows humanity
WE ARE HUMANITY

We can make the difference, if we choose to do it.
Join Blog Action Day and be the difference that makes it change.

  1. I'm already signed up bella! Very much looking forward to taking over the blogosphere against poverty. Thank you for reminding me to post about this beforehand...in fact, I'll tweet it now on Twitter.

  3. As the number of households living in poverty continues to grow in America, this is the time to get people focusing on solutions. Thanks for the heads up Scarlett.

  4. Of course, is there a choice not to support this?

  5. Ciao Michelle!

YAY! So glad that you are on board.
It's going to be a huge change for the better, I know it!

    Hello Jules!

It IS avoidable... why it still exists is baffling to me.
We'll change it someday; soon, I hope.

    Kat,

You are SO very right. We'll get it turned around!

    Miss Minx,

I believe it to be an obligation... I wish everyone believed that, then it wouldn't exist.

  8. I'll take part. Like war, like crime, poverty could end in five minutes if everyone in the world decided to no longer allow it.

How can people justify heaping up wealth, throwing away food, buying the fanciest of cars, when their brothers and Sisters are suffering?

But the cure must be voluntary. Forcible redistribution of wealth is no solution.

  9. Dear ECD,

I wish we all loved each other that much.
    Wouldn't that be something?

  14. Hello,
Sent here by the black box. I love this post, as I am a School Social Worker in an inner-city school. I see the impact poverty has on children and families every day. It is horrible.

Thank you for posting about such a serious problem. This is a message that needs to get out. I'm signed up and will use my "new" blog to promote this. I recently had to change my blog to a new title and start over, due to a cyber stalker.

    Your blog is a gift!

    Hi Fred,

HA ha ha.... the Black Box Travel Agency. That's hilarious!
Welcome. Hopefully it'll be interesting enough around here that you'll continue to visit.

    Cheryl,

    Welcome!
That's something else; I bet you have quite a bit of insight into this subject. I'll come over to see your new page, and best of luck with the stalker.
