I can't imagine a more awful way to earn a living than to be the person who has to evict another from their home.....So a little news like this is certainly good.
Right! What a terrible job. Or the sherriff that has to evict people out onto the street, especially when they know the people have no place to go. So sad.
PBS,
Welcome! Sadly, I think they probably will. We will see how it goes.
Vanilla!
True, but at least they'll have it for a little while longer. A stay of execution, as it were. And, who knows... perhaps some of them will get a Christmas miracle that changes the outcome.
I've become quite cynical in matters such as this... I'm sorry... I really wish it were done in the spirit of Christmas, but I'm not so sure. I have no doubt it suits their purposes. But I hope for a real Christmas miracle for all the good people in need.
Yes, nice, but on January 2nd, they will be on the doorstep conducting their ugly business as usual.
I think that the considerable relief of not being out in the street with all the kiddies on Christmas Eve would be somewhat destroyed by the knowledge that it was only weeks away.
It's such a really sad situation for so many people.
just popped in to enjoy your tasty observations which without a doubt are always so spot~on.
:-)
On This Topic---> i fear for revolution in small towns if great numbers are turned out of their homes.
no, really, i do. already some police officers are refusing the task of dislocating the foreclosed upon. not so much for those living in McMansions as those living in urban coops and in small town neighborhoods, and so on...
harsh actions taken during cold winter months? i don't think it can be done... too unAmerican for seasons of Good Cheer.
I am with you on that, but I am hoping so deeply for holiday miracles.
Dear Hearts,
Isn't it awful? Like the people who are losing their homes, I am anxious that the economy will regain its strength under our new leader.
Colleen,
Hi! I do as well. Glad to see you back!
Jules,
Yes, even if it is a short one.
Sameera!
THERE you ARE!!! Where've you been? Missed you lots.
It is not lost quite yet... we are hoping for those who are in this crisis.
SomePinkFlowers,
You are probably closer to the truth of it than anyone wants to admit. People will only put up with so much before they break. Desperation is no place to live.

ReplyDeleteI hope they won't continue again AFTER the holidays!
ReplyDeleteIt seems, on the surface like a decent gesture, but imagine going through Christmas knowing you're going to lose your home anyway.
ReplyDeleteHard times.
Miss Molly,

Good for them! I wish those families some semblance of holiday normalcy.
