Congratulations Heart In San Francisco for getting the first one! Excellent!
We are off to the second destination... please keep in mind, we are still in 1893. Viaggiatore and I heard of a marvelous creation that we absolutely must go see. What is it?
Destination Two
1. Ecologically the best idea still, to get over around or through the hill
2. Two to a bench, and charged, fifteen before she died
3. With bells and whistles for a comfortable ride
Best of luck!
is it one of those water powered tram things? I'm rubbish at these!
ReplyDeletescarlett,
ReplyDeletePerhaps an electric Trolley car?
rel
The Duryea was the first gasoline powered vehicle in America, predating the Horseless Carriage of Henry Ford by several years.
ReplyDeleteHey Jon!
ReplyDeleteIt isn't, I'm so sorry, but that would be interesting to see!!
Hello Rel!
No sir, you are close, very close, but not quite right...
Hearts,
You *almost* got it... very, very close... but remember, this one is ecologically a better idea...
;o)
Great job!!

Then you must be referring to Roper's steam-powered motorcycle, which was invented around that time.
ReplyDeleteHey, Scarlett, I've been trying to reach you by email but it's not working. Can you send me one, please?
Thanks for your comment at mine :) I won't join in here because I'm completely useless at this sort of thing!
ReplyDeleteHearts!
ReplyDeleteStill very close... but this one doesn't have 2 wheels... and there is no steam involved.
Keep looking! You'll find it.
Suburbia,
Of course!
Don't worry about the games; keep checking in though, there may be one that you get!
Hugs!

Let me roll the cards over, as John Charles Daly used to say on "What's My Line," and come right and say, Is it an orgasmatron?!
ReplyDeleteThe Benz Motorwagen featured an internal-combustion engine with a carbureter which used vaporized petroleum fuel rather than coal gas.
ReplyDeleteScarlett,
ReplyDeleteCable car?
rel
Hi PK!
ReplyDeleteVery nice to see you.
Sorry, that's not quite right.
;o)
Hearts,
Wow! Look at you! That's some serious research; I'm really impressed!
You are -THISCLOSE- to the answer...
Rel,
It is not, but that is a good guess!
********HINT***********
Look in Ontario, Canada

1893 was an interesting year. Pepsi Cola was invented and also the Ferris Wheel, the latter for the Chicago World's Fair of that year.
ReplyDeleteI know that neither is the answer you're looking for, but thought the facts interesting anyway.
Hey Hearts!
ReplyDeleteThose are interesting facts!!
I love Ferris Wheels.
OK.
Looks like I need to offer a better hint.
This is a special one of a kind car. Tell me what car it is, and the point is yours!
Scarlett & Viaggiatore
Martin Baden of Kansas had a specially-built 8-cylinder wind-driven Cadillac Roadster with lots of "extras" including duster coat, hat, gloves, goggles and boots.
ReplyDeleteI've learned a lot about early automobiles including Henry Ford's first, the Quadracycle, which was not driven until 1894 although the engine was built in 1893.
I have now exhausted my research skills.
Scarlett,
ReplyDeleteThe 1893 Shamrock was built in Wardsville, Ontario, Canada by the Mimna Brothers. It is Canada’s Oldest Registered Car and first internal combustion engine.

Hearts & Rel,
ReplyDeleteThose were very *very* good tries.
Here's the answer:
The Featherstonhaugh car was the first electric car ever built. A one of a kind, created in Ontario, Canada in 1893.
I WISH that technology had continued to be used then; think where we'd be today.
On to the next one!
;o)
Scarlett & Viaggiatore
You are *too* clever cara mia :) Can't wait for your next one...I promise to play!
ReplyDeleteCiao Bella!!
ReplyDeleteYAY! I can't wait to have you play! You will be a woman to be reckoned with for this game!
We are taking a quick break from it to celebrate Viaggiatore's birthday.
