Baby Got Back

I was driving a girl of 14 through town one day and we were listening to the Charlie's Angel's soundtrack. Sir Mix A Lot's "Baby Got Back" came on and I immediately changed it to the next song as I believed that a 14 year old should not hear the inuendo-laden lyrics of "Baby Got Back" (...my anaconda don't want none unless you got buns hon). She scoffed and said she knew every word, turned the song back on and proceeded to prove her point to me.

When the song ended, she announced resolutley that she was going to get butt implants when she turned 18.

I almost drove off the road. "Aren't you happy with what the Lord gave you?" I asked in amazement.

Her answer was a wide-eyed heavenward gaze with hands folded solemnly under her chin and in an authentic British accent she asked, "Please Sir, may I have some more?"

I wasn't able to drive after that.

Welcome Heather!

Glad to have you drop by. She wants to lose some weight, not a lot, just tone, but she truly believes there is not enough going on in the background. So to speak.

Suburbia!

Hello lady!
I know... most girls were so much younger at 14 than the girls these days. They grow up much too fast.

It would be such a great economy, and efficient use of resources, if those people who would like to pare their derrieres down a bit could donate their excess for your fourteen year old friend's implants!

I believe she would most heartily agree with you, Miss Molly.
The downside is that she is still filling out and I have a feeling she is just being impatient and should wait until she 18 to reconsider implants, as she might not 'need' them at that point.
;D

Clever child. But yikes and oy. Butt implants.

Is that a photo of a giant golf ball?

*LAUGH!*

It's giant, but it's not a golf ball... ;D

She is a clever one, and obstinate as well.

brain implants would certainly be a refreshing change

Wanderlust Scarlett said...

Cupcake... you are so right. They are not as cheap as butt implants, though, and the people who need them most will never comprehend that they ought to have one.

Irony can be cruel, no?

Oh, I hope so, Scarlett. I fear I'll be fighting a losing battle with all these skinny gym-toned pre-teens with perfect hair on tv and magazines and movies and ads. Makes me want to scream.

Between that and things like Bratz dolls that teach little girls to look like a two dollar hooker, it is tough.

Get them into groups and activities that can build character and self-esteem. Girl Scouts, sports, whatever interests them, but put them in an environment where they can learn their worth without an unhealthy cookie cutter to distort their perspective.

Best of luck!
