Finding Happy

Things have been a bit slow around here lately.
*cue cricket*

Things have been a bit bumpy behind the blog.

So Viaggiatore and I have determined to find our happy again.

We searched Google, which is a wonderful tool to find whatever one (or two) might be looking for.

We started with "image of serenity".  We found several images of a dark haired girl with a dagger.

Last time I checked, serenity was the state or quality of being serene.
Color us oh so full of doubt... but this just seems like the wrong path.

The search has grown to include peace, harmony and balance, but mostly happy.

We found some good things.  Bubbles, water, sunshine, mountains, sea, coffee, chocolate, hugs, warm blankets, babies, giggles, new friends and old, lazy weekend mornings, red cars, hand holding, sunsets, cameras and good books.

How about you? Where do you find these things? What makes you happy and brings you peace?

Haven't you ever heard of The Dagger of Serenity?

Neither have I.

If you figure out where those most desirable attributes reside, please let me know as I am sorely lacking in such things.

I had a red car when I was very young that made me very happy...

Sorry you're going through trouble. I know that when I go through that, the blog is exactly where I do NOT want to be. OK, not always true. When my mom was dying, it was my solace, but because she found comfort there as well, so it was not a betrayal. But so much of what is private is...well...private.

Good luck. And for whatever it's worth, a quote:
“The cure for anything is salt water - sweat, tears, or the sea”. Isak Dinesen

Dearest of Hearts,

I think I figured a decent part of it out, but I had to back track a *long* way and found it quite by accident. It has to do with environment and lifestyle, mostly.
The seed needs good soil to grow... no matter its strength, or it will wither and waste away.
I've been without good soil for a while.

Jules,

You speak such plain truth. :)
It's so ironic that you spoke that about salt water... I am aching for the ocean, and planning a trip to SF where I will rent a car and drive all the way up the coast to Vancouver, because I need the sea so very badly. How very, very ironic that you gave me that to think on.
Thank you so much.
XOXO

What would make a lot of people happy would be to see what a real person - somebody like you - looks like.

Cupcake,

I've been told that Ashley Judd looks just like me.

There you go.

;D

a trip up the left coast to Vancouver sounds like fertile soil indeed. good for you.

what makes me happy? pretty simple stuff. music. baseball. reading. writing. family. the night sky. the day sky too.

The Dagger of Serenity? she doesn't seem too serene...

Clowncar,

I cannot wait for this road trip. Ohhh the peacefulness and ocean of it all. ;D

Aren't simple things the best? The best!! All of those are favorites of mine, too. :)

Yeah... I'm not too sure about that dagger... :/ but it makes me grin when girls kick butt, so hey, no real complaints about anything but her pseudonym.
