Beautiful cheetah! One of my greatest treats in life was playing with a cheetah cub that was being hand-reared, in the house, by a friend's friend who was a gamekeeper. What a feisty little person he was - and what sharp claws!
I do hate zoos though - especially when I see how little Bo Peep hates being confined and is so desperate to be free, which she hopefully will be soon. I don't mind "zoos" that do good conservation work and run necessary breeding programmes but otherwise I have a serious problem with them.
Such beautiful creatures. I do worry about the larger ones being in captivity though, even though I enjoy looking at them, I can't help but wonder........
I love elephants, giraffes and most especially... lions!
Hi Vanilla!
You got to play with a cheetah cub? I'm so jealous. ;o)
Zoos hurt my heart but I see the good of them. The animals are well cared for, never hungry, they have medical care and they are safe. But... they are not free. It's such a wicked paradox.
Hello Suburbia,
The only ones I can't stand are the bats. Ew. *shudder*
I enjoy seeing the rest... especially the big ones!

The power of charity sows deep in my heart, and I reap and gather the wheat in bundles and give them to the hungry. My soul gives life to the grapevine and I press its bunches and give the juice to the thirsty.Heaven fills my lamp with oil and I place it at my window to direct the stranger through the dark.I do all these things because I live in them; and if destiny should tie my hands and prevent me from so doing, then death would be my only desire. Is there anything cuter on the face of the earth than a baby giraffe?
OK. Maybe a baby elephant...
