Wordless Wednesday

I promised fall pictures. I did.

I've been swamped at school and haven't had a chance to get to the mountains, but I will spend this weekend drinking in all the glory of autumn in the Rockies, and then I will share it with you next week...

but for now, do yourself a wonderful favor. I implore you.

Click on this link. It is a slide show of photos over the last few weeks that were snapped by Colorado residents all over the state. You will get an insiders view of the Rockies... up close and personal and stunning... incredible beauty that is almost unbelievable. Don't miss this, if you do nothing else to indulge some free time today, click on this, and spend a few minutes in absolute wonder.

Enjoy... I certainly did.

Colorado Autumn Slide Show

PS - It snowed here two days ago and they had to close the highway down by Silverthorne.... the fall beauty in these pictures will be gone very soon. DON'T MISS IT!!

Beautiful photos!

I would now like to BE there.

Do you realise you're fuelling MY wanderlust?

I can't get over the mountains PERIOD. I'm so used to flat flat flat country. And water. *s*

I was just in Colorado last weekend. :) I forgot you lived there or I would have asked what part of the state you were in on the off chance we could meet for coffee!

Oh my! You live in such a beautiful part of the world - no wonder you're a writer! I just love mountains, and we have loads of them here in Ireland, although in comparison they are more like hills ;)

Good luck with your installment of Grace under pressure ;)

Scarlett, thank you for the link. Unfortunately, I don't have that Adobe Flash version whatever - a newer one obviously than the one I have - so I'll just wait for your pictures... :-)
On another topic, I've just discovered a comment you left on my post "Perspective". I'm so sorry I didn't answer, I feel embarassed. At the time, my account wasn't configured to notify me by e-mail when a comment was posted. Thank you so much for sharing your experience - so similar to mine - and your hopes for the future. Thank you!

Those brief autumnal golds would break your heart if you didn't know that Spring would come and paint the canvas fresh.

These are so beautiful. Makes we want to wrap myself in mukluks and winter woollies and go for a hike up there! I especially liked the rainbow, the deer with his tongue hanging out and all the blazing yellow leaves....Thanks for the treat.

Jon,

A lofty aspiration to be sure... you can walk up part way, but several of them are 'fourteeners' (14 thousand feet) and some hiking and rock climbing becomes necessary; I hear that it's great fun.

Julie,

I am; I say it every day! I live in a truly beautiful place.

Rise,

I would like to be there too! I'm at work!!!
Glad the wanderlust has spread.

Irrelephant,

What's flat?
ha ha ha.
There's water up in them there mountains too... lakes and creeks and rivers and things. A lot of mountain waterfalls where the snow melts into the rivers. Beautiful.

Dewey!!

UH!!! I can't believe you were here and we didn't know we could have had coffee! Well, next time.

Cailleach,

Glady you enjoyed it!
I will endeavor to do my best, thank you much.

Vesper,

So is that like finding a little treasure? A fortune in a fortune cookie? yay!
Sorry you couldn't see the pics; I'll do my best to get some up soon.

Pundy,

Welcome!
Yes. This is very true. But... we get lovely springs here, so it's only sadly sweet instead of heartbreaking. Very nicely said, thanks!

Molly,

Wasn't that deer funny? Good stuff, yes. Glad you hiked through it and enjoyed it.

Chesca,

Me either! I have no idea what to write, can't wait to find out what it looks like when I am done!
ha ha ha...

Wow, just beautiful. I miss autumn.

I'm going to show these to Flip as he lived in Boulder at two different times and loves that area so much.

So thank you from both of us for these thrilling pictures, which will have to hold us until we can return for a visit.

Vesper said...

Indeed it was, thank you, Scarlett! :-) :-) :-)

I enjoyed the visit to Colorado via the slide show. Thanks. We get beautiful colors in our Tennessee mountains, but we don't have those trees or mountains quite so big.

There are some stunning photographs in that collection - breathtakingly beautiful. Thanks for sharing, Scarlet - and enjoy your weekend of photography!

Hearts,

So very glad that you and Flip enjoyed them so much!
Boulder is very beautiful. Peopled with a strange blend of hippie and yuppie... which is why many people who lives outside of Boulder will ofen refer to it as 'The People's Republic of Boulder'. Ha ha ha ha....

Vesper,

Yay! I love it when that happens.
Here's a fortune cookie fortune for you:
"The answer will not come to you. You need to look for it."

Bonnie,

Aren't they huge? Never ceases to amaze me. I'm delighted that you enjoyed the virtual vacation!
They're much more affordable that way too.

Vanilla,

Yes, stunning. You needed a good break, I think. I will get some good photos up asap after the weekend. I'm also working on the Shameless Story. Busy girl.

Gautami,

Big smiles... I'm glad you liked it. I want to go there too! They change so fast... if I don't get out there this weekend, I'll miss a lot of it!

Diana,

Rocky Mountain high huh? HA ha ha ha... yah. Well... they just named that the 'official song of the city' this last spring.
Took 'em long enough.
Wish you could smell the fireplaces.... oh, so nice.

Thanks for visiting Colorado everybody!
