whoa!

that is so me doing
the fine-balance-walk these days!
when the clocks go back
on time change week-end
i
am going to be *lost*
missing the daylight hour!

:-)

i know you are all about lions
[ and rightly so ]
but
elephants hold the key
to my heart
as i find them so endearing.

the big ol' sweet lugs...

How can something so weighty look so light and playful?

If the elephant can do it - then so can I. Inspiring photo, Scarlett.

Elephants, like whales are just the most amazing creatures. I spent time walking and talking with elephants earlier this year at a sanctuary. Their gentleness, nimbleness and sense of balance is extraordinary given their enormous size. Brilliant and evocative shot, Scarlett. I'd post some of my own ellie pics but then you'd get to see me too and we just can't have that! :-)

That's me on some of those days where the ground is turning and I need to stay still! :-)

Elephant...stomping the earth? :)

Maybe it's because I feel like that now..head heavy and tired!

How perspective changes depending on your mood..interesting!

Love your backyard.

I've heard that elephants eat about 200 pounds of food a day, and that ain't peanuts.

That is so cute. l see some symbolism here. By now you probably know l always look into things! l see this as when one is focusing on what one is doing whilst having fun, all the heaviness drifts away and is replaced by a lightness of spirit.

Oh, indeed, this statue shows us how difficult balance can be.

Rel,

You are so very welcome mon ami!

Somepinkflowers,

Balance is important!
Well... not so much all about lions, all about Viaggiatore because he is a special lion; a writers lion, and I adopted him (thank you ever so much Seamus), but I love elephants just as much!

Glad that you liked this one, you may have him, if you like. (Well... the photo anyway).

Taff,

Maybe that's a good way to look at it... when things are weighty, put on a smile and take it lightly....

Addy/Wilf,

I quite agree... thanks!

Vanilla,

Aren't elephants wonderful? I love them too. Haven't gotten to be around one in a while though; that's so great that you have the whales and elephants close enough to visit!
We have mountain animals... but we don't try to visit them. Bears, mountain lions, rattlesnakes, moose... the rabbits are nice though.

Seamus,

I think that an elephant is a very good thing to be.
Especially if it's balanced and smiling... it'll turn the spinning world to rights again, methinks.

Dee,

I'm so sorry to hear that.
No... he's dancing. Hopefully you will be too, soon.
I'm sure the baby will help you do that.

Hearts,

WHAT?!?! Yikes... I better get to the grocery store then, I don't have nearly enough food and he needs to keep his strength up!
SHEESH!

Irrelephant,

But of course! Glad you enjoyed him!

Cleo,

That's very deep insight, just the kind that I like!
Thank you very much. I shall take that to heart.

Jeni,

Balance can be tricky, but when you get the hang of it, it's very good.

Rebecca,

Looks as though some of the others here are in the same elephant boat!
Perhaps we should start the pachyderm support group... hmmm.
Well, meantime... our little fellow here would love to try to make you smile!
