two dancing aliens?

you are always
in the right place
to snap the beautiful!

:-)

that bookstore rather reminds me
of powell's in portland.

i am not a *tour* person
but wouldn't it be grand
to go city to city around the world
on a bookstore tour?!

Thanks for sharing the pictures, Scarlett! Denver seems a very nice and quiet place.

Scarlett: Tattered Cover being the one thing I really miss from Denver. I still have a mug from there that I use a lot. And at some point I should scan in some of the shots I took of Union Station in 2002. Nice post.

that last photo was soooo
great.
you took that!?
It looks like a post card.
Thanks for taking us on a tour.
Hope your sister-time was great.

Ooh, thank you for the virtual tour, that was so cool! Loved the framing of the shot of the botanical gardens - and those window washers too - are you, perhaps like me, snapping shots while you're driving...? ;-)
PS am deeply envious of your huge bookstore we have nothing remotely like that here.

OK Denver definitely looks like my kind of city from these shots--clean and no getting pushed around by hoards of people trying to get to Point B.

And the window washers are so hi-tech!

Hi! Glad you are here.
Well... they're supposed to be two tall white plastery type willowy dancers... but, they look like aliens to a lot of people, and I have yet to talk to anyone who actually likes them. Blah!
I have Powell's on my to do list. Can't wait to get there!
Bookstore tour; absolutely!

Vesper,

I'll have to put some more up; Denver is a very unique place, big city in the middle, suburbia on all the outskirts, and farm/countryside and mountains just beyond that. I could be at a big name concert or one of 5 kinds of professional sports games and within 45 minutes be at a mountain lake or skiing. I LOVE IT!

MT,

You know, they have 3 Tattered Covers now. ;o)
Yes, please show your Union Station photos, would love to see as these were just taken quickly in passing and are not as good as they should be.

Chesca,

Yes, I took them all; I have a few variations of the last one; it's so symmetrically perfect, just love that!

Vanilla,

Snapping photos while one is driving... hmm.... what a novel idea! ;o)
If I could share that bookstore with you, I would. It's WONDERFUL.

Sognatrice,

It's great here. High tech window washers and all... ha ha ha.
I am quite sure that you would love it. There is a lot of appeal for just about everyone.

You scared me for a second when I saw the December 2007 date!

Window washers makes me giggle. The Arts Complex makes me smile and want to throw some flower petals.

Scarlett,
I've been to the Denver airport twice. That probably doesn't count right?
I suppose I'll have to go into the city now, if only to visit The Tattered Cover Bookstore ;)

love- church sunset, and botanic diamond.

Tried to get husband to drive through Colorado on our cross country trip, a few years back, he refused. Now when he says he would like to go there, I feel like smashing him over the head with something.

I love the sky in the church shot. And those dancing aliens are cool too.

Colleen,

Fixed the date; it was throwing everyone off!
The window washer shot was while I was driving... muli-tasking, I mean...
and the Aliens are just something else entirely.

Seamus,

I do too... and you know what? I think I will put a post up about it. Everyone seems to like it!
I love it, it's SO great. Wish everyone had one.

Scientista,

We are all of one mind about the bookstore!
There are 3 now, you know.
The gardens are a favorite locale of mine, glad you liked that!

Rel,

If you liked Shakespeares bookstore, you will LOVE the Tattered Cover... so worth the price of admission (free)... that's it, I'll have to do a post about it!

Taffiny,

HA HA HA HA HAAAAHHAAAAAA....

Not saying another word about it.
**snicker** so funny.

Verilion,

I enjoyed watching that sunset, and taking photos of it.
You like the aliens... well, they aren't actually really supposed to be aliens.. they are some weird willowy dancer type art... or so we've been told, to some, they are art, to me... they look like aliens.
And they are HUGE... not as big as the tower you posted.. but big.
Glad you enjoyed!
